Enterprise API Marketplace
Enterprise Car Rental engaged Merkle to construct an API marketplace with the goal of facilitating the utilization of APIs that support mobility solutions internally and with partners.
Overview
Objective
The ultimate goal was for the Enterprise API marketplace was to function as a comprehensive resource for API documentation and the initiation of API requests, with a strong focus on self-service for end users.
The key objectives of the external API marketplace included alignment with Enterprise Car Rental's overarching digital strategy, integration with AEM (Adobe Experience Manager), and the delivery of a straightforward and intuitive experience for both internal developers and external partners.
The Enterprise API Marketplace allows users to effortlessly search and connect to their APIs, empowering them to innovate their products and enhance experiences for employees and customers. The Marketplace can readily adapt to the requirements of various audiences, encompassing other Enterprise entities and partners. Additionally, it ensures appropriate security and visibility for these capabilities.
Approach
The project comprised three distinct phases: design immersion, design vision refinement, and detailed design. In the initial phase, I organized, created, and facilitated collaborative workshops between Enterprise stakeholders and the Merkle team to review and assess the product vision.
This involved in-depth user and stakeholder interviews, competitive landscape analysis, persona creation, experience mapping, along with KPI & OKR (Objective and Key Results) alignment. Moving on to the Design Vision Refinement phase, the goal was to synthesize the findings to guide and define MVP functionality and feature sets, working closely with stakeholders to outline next-phase steps.
After comprehensive planning, I led the team in delivering a comprehensive site mapping and information architecture plan for the new site. This process involved developing a detailed design plan, ultimately influencing the final site design and content structure.
This effort helped bring Enterprise one step closer to transforming their mobility landscape and delivering exceptional customer-centered software and service solutions, both internally and to their diverse group of partners.
